Do you remember what you where doing?

Almost 2 years and it will be the 10 year anniversary.

It was 8 years ago today…. September 11, 2001.  I’m sure you’ll never forget where you were or what what you where doing.  I was still in school at that time.  It was 5:45 am… as usual I woke up to my alarm clock set to Power 106… I was expecting the usual voice of  “Big Boy” after Ludacris- What’s Your Fantasy hit.  Big Boy and Liz comment on a tragic accident about a plane hitting the twin towers.  I am only half-awake as I try to comprehend what they said.  I wobble to grab the remote to turn on the television.

I see the first tower with black smoke and suddenly an object flys by from left to right of the tv screen.  Then directly hitting the next tower.  I was confused, terrified, and many other emotions mixed into one.  How could this be an accident?  What just happened?  Who would do such a thing? Many other questions flew in my mind.

Remember what happened that day.   Real people died that day… families where lost, wives lost husbands, husbands lost wives, a daughter lost a father, a father lost a daughter, a son lost a mother, mother lost a son, a friend, a fiance.  It was devastating for thousands of families across the country but we came together as a nation.  I watched on television hundreds of volunteers at ground zero – wondering how the lives of so many people has changed by one incident.  Some times these incident which hurt us the most are remembered while the incidents that we take for granted are forgotten easily.  Out of the tragic moment came something positive… let’s all remember….
